A Turkish Twist on Spaghetti

Move over basil, there is a new flavor in town. Well, at least in my world.  This special flavor? Mint. Shredded bits of mint have the ability to transform the taste of spaghetti sauce. Whether it is served to the masses on Bodrum boat tours, or in the intimacy of a friend’s home, this mint spaghetti has become one of my favorite comfort foods.

I rarely follow recipes, or use measurement devices when I cook, so below I have given simply estimates…

3 cups of tomato puree (or plain tomato sauce)

1 1/2 cups of shredded beef

1/4 cup of mint (dried or fresh)

1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes

a pinch of salt and pepper

Simple and delicious!!
